PUPPY CLASSES

You don't have to wait for a new course to begin!

Our unique rolling enrollment courses are offered on Tuesdays at 7 pm at our Downers Grove location.

Our Puppy classes are Family Friendly, Small Group Classes Limited to 4-6 Puppy Teams to Ensure Quality. 

Veterinarians and groomers rave about how well our puppies do for examinations and handling.

Please Note: Pre-registration is required to attend puppy classes.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely NOT!  The Primary and Most Important time for puppy socialization is the first 3 Months of Life. Click the following link to read the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's (AVSAB) Position Statement on the importance of Puppy Socialization  

  • Following your veterinarian's vaccination protocol for healthy puppies, we only require age- appropriate core vaccinations. For puppies, the first DHLPP or DHPP (specifically Distemper and Parvo) is administered at least 7 days before your puppy’s first group class session. *We also accept titer tests. 

    * All puppies must also be free of internal and external parasites. (Proof of negative fecal test required.) 

    Please contact us immediately if your puppy tests positive for parasites. We have special provisions and exceptions for some cases.

    • Unique Socialization Segments (surfaces, objects, costumes, canine enrichment, veterinary station, obstacle courses, walkers/canes/crutches/wheelchair, and more!) 

    • Off-Leash Puppy Play/Train sessions for puppies and humans to learn dog body language. (*Please understand that not every puppy is appropriate for Play/Train sessions. We can accommodate and we are experienced with shy, fearful, and reactive pups. If your puppy is not a candidate for this course, we offer customized 1:1 coaching programs.)  

    • Graduation Certificate upon the completion of the 5-week course. 

    • Priority email and phone support during the course. Students with questions are encouraged to email the instructor rather than wait for the next class. Often, many issues can be easily resolved via email or a phone call to resolve the problem before it accelerates.

  • Please note, that there are NO make-up classes for this course.

    By enrolling, you are reserving a space in this class. The size of our class is limited to ensure quality. Therefore, we are unable to refund any enrollment fees once your enrollment is confirmed and you have received the Welcome email with the entire course materials.

    Please carefully consider your schedule and level of commitment prior to enrolling. If for any reason, you miss a class, you will have access to all the lessons as well as the session summary. 

  • We meet once a week for 5 weeks. Each class is about 45-50 minutes.

  • Before you get your puppy or as soon as you bring your puppy home! The Pupz’nHarmony 101 Socialization & Manners Course is for pups between the ages of 8 weeks - 18 weeks. 

    Please reach out to us if your puppy is older than 18 weeks.

Please be aware that the use of physical or verbal punishment, aversive equipment including collars such as choke, prong, pinch, or shock, ”e” or stim collars is NOT permitted in any Dogz’nHarmony class. Please reach out to us for equipment suggestions.
