WoofShops: Focus On Mastering One Skill At A Time
"WoofShops" are workshops designed to help you and your dog focus on mastering one skill at a time. WoofShops are short, quick and to the point, and fit into any busy schedule. Take any one of the WoofShops or take as many as you'd like. Great for all dogs, all breeds, all ages at any level. We set each handler/dog team up for optimal learning success whether your dog is just learning a new skill or needs a "refresher."
Our WoofShops are for people and dog friendly dogs only. For the safety of our clients and their dogs, dog parents with dogs that are not people and/or dog friendly or find public places frightening are invited to attend ("audit") any WoofShop without their dog at a reduced cost. Private in-home training sessions are also the best alternative solution.
Each WoofShop class session runs 75 minutes. Class size is limited and advanced registration is required. To register and enroll, call 630-992-9200.

Jumping Beans/Polite Greetings Got an exuberant overly friendly dog jumping to greet you or your guests? Stop unwanted jumping the humane way! We'll give you 21 positive tips and techniques to stop embarrassing and potentially dangerous jumping behavior. Dogs and humans also get "lotsa" time to practice their new polite behavior!

Settle, Stay & Self Control (2 Week Session) So...what do you want your dog to do instead? Instead of jumping up on people and counters? Instead of grabbing the leash with his mouth? This WoofShop focuses on helping you teach your dog one of the most important foundation skills - learning to relax, settle, and stay with fun self-control games, so that you can enjoy dinner, visiting guests, going out in public, etc.This class is the perfect complement to the Jumping Beans/Polite Greetings WoofShop.

Loose Leash Walking (3 Week Session) Has walking your dog become a drag? Are you tired and frustrated with your walks? Learn how to enjoy a nice loose leash walk with your dog using our positive and effective techniques, so you can relax and enjoy taking your dog for a walk. This class will be held indoors as well as outdoors.

Really Reliable Coming When Called (2 Week Session) Teaching your dog to come when called is one of the most important behaviors you can teach your dog for safety reasons. We’ll focus on increasing the reliability of your dog to come when called in a variety of situations and distractions. We will also provide real life tips as well as "lotsa" practice getting your dog to come when called, every time, even with distractions present!

Emergency Coming When Called (2 Week Session) Can you call your dog off a skunk or from entering a busy street? This class is for those very scary, yet real, worst case scenarios. For those times when coming when called just doesn't cut it. This class is the perfect complement to the Really Reliable Coming When Called WoofShop.

Extreme Leave-It /Counter Surfing (2 Weeks)
So many applications! Are you tired of constantly nagging your dog to "leave-it" without results? Does your dog get into the garbage or try to pick up forbidden items, food or nasty items on walks? Or got a counter-surfing dog? (Counter-Surfing Dude: Dogs who steal items from the kitchen counters.) Then this is your workshop! We will discuss management techniques as well as give you the necessary practical tools and "lotsa" practice with your dog to end this unwanted behavior. We will also simulate real-life scenarios in class using high-value food and objects.

Safety around Dogs & Bite Prevention (2-Hour Session)
For parents and children 5-13.This workshop is geared toward teaching children to stay safe around familiar and unfamiliar dogs. Fact: according to national statistics, most dog bites occur in and/or around dog owners’ homes. In this fun, interactive workshop, children and parents will learn how to speak “dog,” how to properly greet dogs, and how parents can safely manage kids and dogs. Children will be empowered and learn not to be fearful, but instead will learn what to do to stay safe. Children will receive a certificate of completion. (Humans only please!)
